from reviewsDTF FAQ
What is DTF (Direct to Film) Printing?
DTF (Direct to Film) is a technology for transferring dynamic and full-colour images from a film to textiles. Unlike basic screen printing transfer technology that uses heat and pressure to transfer the design to fabric, a special film covered with powdered ink is transferred to the fabric with the help of a heat press to get the desired result on the textile. It can give excellent visual effects on light or dark materials and is durable and highly sustainable with brilliant colour.
What materials can I print on with DTF?
DTF is a versatile printing technology which can print on a variety of materials such as cotton, polyester, mixed materials and even synthetic fabrics. You can creatively print to an extensive number of materials such as t-shirts, jerseys, caps, bags and others using the DTF technique.
What is the Gang Sheet?
The large sheet containing more than one drawing is known as a gang sheet; using them helps to reduce waste as multiple transfers can be placed on top of each other and printed at the same time, which is a great option for bulk orders.
What are the pressing instructions for DTF transfers?
Warm your heat press to 280-300 F / 155-160 CMedium pressure for 9-13 seconds.Pressure 6 KGAllow 10 seconds to cool before peeling
What is your turnaround time (TAT)?
Our standard lead time for DTF transfers are same day for call in orders submitted by 8 AM CST and next day for call in orders called in after cut off.
What file formats and resolutions are recommended?
For the best print quality, submit your artwork in 300 DPI (meta-pixels per inch) high-resolution format, preferably as PNG, TIFF, PDF, PSD, or AI files with a transparent background. Make sure there are no extraneous designs on the artwork.
